No matter where we were in Asia, if we were ordering street food, it was often served on or in a banana leaf. Those little touches were the constant reminders of just how differently we’ve grown up compared to others in the world. Besides that, for us often eco-conscious Brits it was a welcome change compared to the ridiculous amount of cheap, single-use plastic food was often served in too.
