We were approached by a Spanish guy while at our hostel in Langkawi. He asked us if we had noticed the old man that was in our dorm and of course we had, he was hard to miss. The guy continuously spoke to himself, responded to himself, laughed with himself and this was all day and right through the night. Noah and I weren’t that worried but we also didn’t understand what he was saying so I guess we figured he was reminding himself of things he needed to do or something. Up until this point. This Spanish traveler explained the old guy was also Spanish and had told him that he was on the run from the UK government and that they are trying to assassinate him and that the real Kurt Cobain was still alive and that he knows of people in the island that are poisoning girls. Well this made our Spanish friend freak out because a girl in our room had been really ill for a few days and he suspected this runaway spy as the culprit. The more we thought about it the more we realised there were quite a few unexplained coincidences. My true crime addiction probably didn’t help the situation and we worked each other up to the point we were convinced we might be next. Luckily we were due to leave the following day… close call (maybe).
